  • 17 days to go!

Scott Sanders  of @TheDLCBlog tweeted out a new Disney port adventure. It looked really great, but I wasn’t sure if it was for next years Alaska or if they’d make it avaliable for this years- in -17 days…. I logged into my cruise activities, and it wasn’t there. Oh well. Today someone on our cruise tweeted they booked it. I logged in and yup it was there. Selected, was available went to book it. And decided to double check with traveling partner…. 30 minutes later we decide it’s a go, but it’s gone. It sold out that fast?!! I mean it’s brand new, and it’s not like Disney promoted it. Unless you saw Scott’s tweet, you probably wouldn’t know it existed. Motto: Follow Scott or at least check avaliable port adventures often. I’m super angry. I just shoulda booked it and canceled if I didn’t want it. There was no penalty. After an hour of stewing I called Disney just to see if there was a glitch or if it really sold out. They checked, said yup it’s there, not sure why you can’t book. Let me transfer you to website assistance. Ok they check, tell me the browsers sometimes have issues, have me try a different one. Still doesn’t work. They say we’ll go check with a supervisor. They come back and say we have good news, we booked both of you for the port adventure. The adventure booking had been pulled down due to a price error, and the only way you could book was a phone call to them. Boom done. So excited! First people on a brand new port adventure. I’ll have to thank the guy who tweeted he booked it when I see him on my floaty boat by the seals.

The next two weeks passed in a blur of getting ready to leave, last minute errands, and bundle packing our stuff, yes we fit everything into two large suitcases, two carry-ons (one mostly empty so we can fit bottle water we plan to pick up in Vancouver) and two personal items. We even left room for souvenirs. All the normal stuff like laundry, work, triple checking all our travel documents, and then suddenly it’s 1 Day to go! There will not be much sleep tonight.
